HPE is a set of PHP scripts that collects updates from a collection of sites around the web and displays them in news boxes which can be organized on a number of pages. It uses MySQL to store data, and includes PHP3 functions that support formats raging from XML/RSS to raw HTML parsing. It also lets users select news sources and display them on a number of pages.

Jonah is a set of scripts, written in PHP, to manage content and display for a portal-like site. It includes a backend which will fetch RDF/RSS/syndicated XML site summary or headline files, store them locally, parse them, and generate (and save) html from them. My.Netscape style RSS files and My.UserLand XML storylist files both appear to work. The frontend is extremely simplistic - it lists the available channels and lets you view the generated html for them.

MDC-XSL is an XML to HTML conversion tool primarily designed to be linked into other applications. MDC-XSL is written in C++ for high portability and speed. The ultimate goal is to produce a fully standards compliant XSL processor in C++ that can be used stand-alone or as an integral part of major applications.

XML::Node is for those who use Perl to process XML files. XML::Node is built on top of XML::Parser and provides a simplified programming interface. XML::Node users can register callback sub-routines or variables to specific type of XML nodes. The values of the specified XML nodes are automatically copied to the corresponding variables. XML Parser for Java is a validating XML parser written in 100% pure Java. The package (com.ibm.xml.parser) contains classes and methods for parsing, generating, manipulating, and validating XML documents. XML Parser for Java is believed to be the most robust XML processor currently available and conforms most closely to the XML 1.0 Recommendation.

If you have sections of your web pages that are frequently updated, such as a table of links, or you have advertising, announcement, or message spots that change, it can be easier (by far) to simply change one file instead of dozens or even hundreds of web pages. Now, you can do such with ease using XML while having no dependance on server-side scripting. That is why I created the JS XML DOCUMENT READER. NanoXML is a very small (5KB!) XML parser for Java. It currently performs no validation (the DTD is ignored).

MinML is an XML parser written in Java. It was written to be used in embedded Java systems where storage space is at a premium. The code is quite compact, but MinML was also designed to minimise the heap space used by the program when parsing a document. MinML does not support DTDs - MinML reads and ignores DTDs, and Mixed content - this is not allowed. Supported features are: Attributes, Empty elements, Entity references, Character references, and CDATA sections.

Xsltp.pl is a pure Perl XSLT parser. It requires XML::Parser and CGI packages (very likely you have them) and version of Perl higher than 5.6.0. The program was designed for use as a server which can accept user request, output result and save data on the local disk. It uses HTTP protocol built in the processor for passing the parameters to XSLT stylesheets.
